This week's pick is 65356-9292-346 body cast wearing Glyth. This generic blue repaint of Bumble Bee is all about the science life.

She is indeed one of the very lucky G1 ladies to get a toy. G1 I here you shreak Why yes check out 'Five faces of darkness and you'll she her stod there watching her friend get slaughter by the quintessons. Of course this toys isn't an original g1 release but a 2002 botcon. She hadn't really had an identy untill Botcon gave her a name and profile.she was just generic robot in a G1 episode.
With this release her life long companion got a toy as well. Tapout is always a key character to Glypth when ever a bio is written he always has a mention of being her protector or body guard. I feel like if she was to be written in to the comics he would be her Conjunx Endura.

ATTENTION!!! this little blue beetle is not to be confused with the G1 Mexican blue Bumble Bee. He does look a like but glyth sports a grey secondary colour where Mexican Bee rocks black, her mouth plate is yellow/ orange and she rocks a far luxurious blue colouring.

In 2014 impossible toys released their Glypher a homage to the Botcon release. Glypher is more of a biro blue and a lot flatter in colour than it's original release. Her bio is pretty standard to Glyph science babe tap out bestie.

Then in a future series Transformers animated she gets another on screen appearances as yes you guest it back ground character. Just standing there casuly chatting to another bot. This time though the character designer gave her a full back ground story. As her typical Archaeometist self who relishes in getting lost in data working for the sciene guild. I love how they described her as a wall flower . This shy science babe has been seen hanging around with Excellion and road rage in the series. But still like all typical glyth tradition her favourite friend is Tap out.

She has had a few comic appearances where She is heavily involved with the story line. But these have mainly been exclusive comics. All have her sporting the g1 look being an archaeometrist. I've not seen her appear in a takara legends comic strip yet. Science can be sexy to.

At one point a blue takara United deluxe class bumble bee repaint was floating about the internet. It's never been 110% confirmed if it was a ko, prototype, lucky draw toy or just a really good custom. There has been a few collectors who have been lucky enough to get a hold of one of these. It does sport a different head sculpt making a little more feminine.

2017 was a great year for glyth she got 2 3rd party companies putting her out. 1st Art feather released a blue repaint of there Bii with a new head sculpt.
Later in the year UK convention Transformers Nation (TFN) dropped on our laps a convention exclusive partnered with MASS Rune.
Mass toys have retooled the head sculpted to make her more feminine. But they didn't go with the typical face plate but a femaine looking sculpt. I feel like this was to make it a bit more exclusive as they had already released Volk for tfcon who rocked a face plate and a general release of gold bug.

Rune has more a pre earth alt mode sported by bumble be in more than meets the eye ep 1 or the G1 cartoon.

For me personally even though she is an incredibly intelligent introvert I can see her in the science labs with Wheeljack, perceptor and all those geek buffs. I hope she gets a good mention in the comics. Not just a character getting lost in crowds but a good few panels where she has some grade A dialog. With all her incarnations she is never portrayed as a fighter she lacks the body type so they say, even though bumble bee has the same cast. I'm surprised she was packed with a gun on her impossible toys and mass toys releases. Knowing the back ground of her she would of been more suited to having a small cybertroian tablet like device.
But as fembots go she is super lucky to have 1 official toy and 3 3rd party releases. For a character that isn't mightly well know she's done alright.

Thanks for stopping by
